Nieky Holzken challenges Paul Daley to fight at Bellator: Dynamite

Nieky Holzken, arguably the worlds best 170 lb Kickboxer has issued a challenge to Paul Daley. Holzken posted the video message below on You Tube.

Holzken is currently set to fight Raymond Daniels at Glory 23 on August 7th, so it is safe to assume he would have to come out of that bout without any injuries for the fight with Daley to happen.

Daley is most recognized for his stint in the UFC where he was a legitimate contender before being kicked out of the promotion. Daley then spent time fighter for several other promotions including Strikeforce and most recently Bellator. He focused on Kickboxing in 2014 fighting throughout Europe. He picked up a (T)KO win over top ranked Russian Alexander Stetsurenko in that time frame.

Daley responded to the challenge on facebook with the following:

"The best 77kg kickboxer Nieky Holzken has called me out to fight him on glory/Bellator dynamite. Very surreal. I'm a massive fan of Holzken, but I am a fighter that won't back down. If he wants it, it's the motivation I need. Let's make it happen, and if he wins in Vegas for the GLORY, let's make it for the GLORY CHAMPIONSHIP BELT. Ok Nieky?......."

This would be a nice match up to see added to the Dynamite card, and hopefully Holzken comes out of the bout on August 7th without any serious injuries and can compete on the September 19th Dynamite card.

Head kick knockouts are as exciting as it gets in combat sports. We have compiled a list of our top 10 head kick knockouts. With so many great head kick knockouts it is really hard to narrow the field down to 10. Let us know which head kick knockouts you think are the best and what KO's you would include in your top 10 list. We did not include any spinning kick KO’s as we are going to have a separate list for those and for the fight to make the list video need to be available.

10: Sheldon Gaines vs. Sam Poulton at PKP: World Stand Off 4
Great timing by Gaines to deliver a brutal head kick. The KO is enhanced by the way Poulton hits the canvas.

9. Ognjen Topic vs. Paowarit Sasiprapa at Lion Fight 9
You have to give credit to Paowarit for getting up as many times as he did, but Topic was just on point with is kicks and kept delivering them until Paowarit could no longer get up.

8. Yury Bessmertny vs. Gago Drago at Thai Boxe Mania 2012
As soon as this kick connects Bessmertny knows this fight is over. He creates just enough space to deliver the brutal blow on Drago.

7. Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs. Pornsanae Sitmonchai at Rajadamnern Stadium
Pornsanae is a beast in the ring but Superlek shows that on any given day when you have two high level fighters anything can happen. This was as straight forward as it gets nothing to set this up just a head kick delivered perfectly that Pornsanae was not expecting and he paid the price.

6. Pornsanae Sitmonchai vs Saksuriya Gaiyanghadao Lumpinee Stadium
This time on the opposite end of the KO, Pornsanae and Saksuriya are going letting their hands go before Pornsanae decides to switch it up and throw a head kick that pays off big.

5. Andy Souwer vs Hideya Tanaka at No Kick, No Life 2015
A great KO by Souwer, it shows that you don’t need much space need to last a devastating head kick.

4. Andrei Kulebin vs. Petchasawin Seatranferry at Max Muay Thai 1
Kulebing counters perfectly with his head kick and delivers a massive head kick KO.

3. Suichi Wentz vs. Romie Adanza at K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 Los Angeles
This KO by Wentz is enhanced by the way Adanza hits the floor and his leg twitches.

2. Saenchai vs. Gjilas Barache at Thai Fight
Saenchai is always s a showman and this fight shows why fans love him. A nice head kick KO with flair.

1. Artur Kyshenko vs. Vladimir Moravcik K-1 ColliZion 2009 Final Tournament
This is a great KO, just as Moravcik corners Kyshenko and it seems he might have an advantage, Kyshenko delivers a head kick to end the fight in what seems like tight quarters.

Liam Harrison (@LiamBadco) is the most recognized fighter out of the UK, and has established himself as one of the best fighters in the world. On July 31st the Bad Company trained fighter will take on Malaipet Sasiprapa at Lion Fight 23. We were able to catch up with Liam to talk to him about the upcoming bout and a few other things.

MTA: You are fighting Malaipet at Lion Fight 23, how are you feeling coming into this fight?

Liam: I'm feeling good I've trained hard and looking forward to show casing myself in the states again.

MTA: Malaipet is one of the most popular fighters here in the states, are you familiar with him and his fight style?

Liam: Yes I know him so I have trained hard as I know he's a very good fighter.

MTA: This will be your second time fighting in the States, are you looking forward to fighting in front of the American crowd again?

Liam: Yes I'm really looking forward to it, Lion Fight is a great promotion and I have been trying to get on these cards for a long time.

MTA: You are always involved in high profile fights, as a fighter how do you prepare for that mentally knowing you are fighting some of the biggest names in the world?

Liam: I don't really feel I need to mentally prepare anymore it's ingrained into me as I've proved over the years I'm up there with the best of the best and have been fight the top level for the last 10 years.

MTA: How was it that you got involved with Muay Thai, and at what point did you realize that this was going to be your profession?

Liam: My cousin former world champion Andy Howson just took me down to Bad Company gym with him one day and I instantly fell in love with the sport. My first pro fight was at 14, but it wasn't until I was about 18 I realized I could actually make a living out of the sport if I applied myself correctly.

MTA: Outside of Muay Thai what are some of your hobbies?

Liam: I used to play a lot of football (soccer to you guys) but obviously had to give that up in case of injury which I really miss but still enjoy having a bet on a Saturday afternoon and going to watch the games, other than that my life is pretty much spent in the gym. I enjoy going out for a drink or nice meals when I'm out of fight camp, and go the cinema weekly also but that's about it really.

MTA: On social media it seems that your team Bad Company is always having a good time, how is it training at Bad Company and how is the team dynamic?

Liam: I absolutely love training at Bad Company, we are a family and are all best friends, which is probably why we are all so successful. We all train hard together and are all set on the same goals of just being the best we can be and all push each other to the limit. When one of us wins, we all win and the same when we lose we feel like we all lost. I couldn't imagine training anywhere else tbh.

MTA: A while back there was talks among fans that they wanted to you see you fight American Kevin Ross, is that a fight that you interested in?

Liam: Yeah it's been talked about but Kevin's team said he only fights at 63.5 against international opposition and I'm more 65-66 so not sure it will happen unless a catch weight could be agreed.

MTA: You had a brief stint in Kickboxing two years ago, is that something you might try again or do you simply prefer to fight Muay Thai?

Liam: No to be honest I don't like fighting K-1 rules my heart is with Muaythai, it's hard to be good at something which you don't enjoy.

MTA: If you have to sum yourself up as a fighter in one word what would it be?

Liam: 1 word.....clinical.

MTA: Thanks for the time Liam, do you have any parting words for your fans and supporters?

Liam: Just like to say thanks to my sponsors SAY scaffolding and Gold standard nutrition, and say I'm looking forward to putting on a good show for all my supporters friends and family who will be watching when I fight next week.

Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Marco Tentori set as main event for Origins 7 on August 8th in Australia

Rumors of Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Giorgio Petrosyan circulated like crazy earlier this week. Although the Thai super star wont be stepping into the ring against Petrosyan, he will be fighting in August. He will be headlining Origins 7 in Perth, Australia against Marco "Machine Gun" Tentori.

Yodsanklai needs little introduction as he is one of the most popular Muay Thai fighters of all time. It seemed his career was coming to an end late 2011, but a new dedication to training saw him storm back into the spotlight in 2012 and has since won 19 consecutive fights. Names like Victor Nagbe, Marat Grigorian, Yohan Lidon, and Kem Sitsonpeenong are among the fighters he has beat during his current run.

Tentori is an ISKA Muay Thai Commonwealth Champion, and has been in the ring with some of Australia's more recognized fighters. He went the distance with Steve Moxon dropping a decision to him, but holds a decision win over Franki Giorgi. Yodsanklai will easily be the toughest test of Tentori's career. Known for his rapid fire approach that earned him the nickname "Machine Gun", Tentori will have to put on the performance of his career against Yodsanklai, and if he does he will immediately garner the attention from Muay Thai fans around the world.
